The provincial men’s representative of Ravenna, made up of two couples from Porto Robur Costa 2030, won the 2024 edition of the Trofeo dei Territori beach volleyball, which took place last weekend in Cesenatico with eight provincial teams competing (the provinces of Rimini and Forlì-Cesena competed in the Romagna Uno team). Selected and directed by Giovanni Briccoli, the Consar couples were, for 2008, the twin brothers Marco and Matteo Buchynskyy, and for 2009, Enrico Capucci and Federico Zoli.
The team from Ravenna has created a clear path, first winning the two matches of the qualifying pools, necessary to establish the position in the table of the direct elimination challenges, beating both Reggio Emilia and Romagna Uno 2-0. In the next phase, Ravenna then beat Piacenza 2-0 in the quarterfinals, Modena 2-1 in the semifinals and Parma 2-0 in the final. The formula of the event included two cross-challenges between the 2008 pairs against those of 2009.

«I congratulate the boys for the excellent tournament they played – comments Briccoli -. The most insidious and difficult match was the semi-final against Modena, in which we found ourselves 1-0 down, and therefore in a position to play the extra set, in which each selector had to field a boy from 2008 and one from 2009. I bet on Matteo Buchynskyy and Enrico Capucci, and we won the decisive partial.”
After two thirds and a second place obtained in the last three years, Ravenna returns to win the trophy, bringing it back to the province since 2012, the year of the last success, achieved with the 1995 players, still with Briccoli as selector. Ravenna also confirms itself as the first province in the regional beach volleyball ranking.
In the women’s field, the provincial selection finished in sixth place.
