European Championships 2024: Austria, France, Holland, England, Denmark and Slovenia in the round of 16

The 2024 European Championships continue. Two matches were played at 6pm: France-Poland ended 1-1, a draw which forced the French team to qualify as second in group D. While Holland-Austria ended 2-3, with the the Austrians qualify as first in the group while the Netherlands is third and goes to the next phase among the best third-placed teams. In the 9pm matches England drew 0-0 against Slovenia, as did Denmark against Serbia. With these results, England qualifies for the round of 16 as first in group C, while Denmark is second thanks to its better ranking compared to third-placed Slovenia, which however advances to the round of 16 among the best third-placed teams. Yesterday, Spalletti’s Italy, thanks to a last-second equalizer against Croatia (1-1), qualified for the round of 16 and will face Switzerland on 29 June.

The news of France-Poland 1-1

The first half of France-Poland ends goalless, but there is certainly no shortage of opportunities on both sides: for the French it is Theo Hernandez, Dembele and Mbappe who come close to scoring, while Poland, already eliminated, tries with Urbanski and Lewandowski. In the second half, France took the lead thanks to Mbappe’s penalty goal but Poland equalized with Lewandowski, again from the penalty spot. The report of Holland-Austria 2-3
