After the golden double (100 and 4×100) at the European Championships in Rome and the fantastic 9.92 in Turku, this weekend’s approach to Marcell Jacobs towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. On Saturday 29 June the Lombard sprinter will in fact appear at the starting blocks of the 100 meters on the occasion of the Italian Overall Championships of La Spezia.
The reigning Olympic champion is looking for new positive responses just over a month before the start of the five-ring event, with the aim of stabilizing under the 10-second barrier and perhaps trying to approximate the performances achieved in the last few days at the American Trials by Noah Lyles, Fred Kerley and Kenny Bednarek. However, Jacobs will not find continental silver medalist Chituru Ali in Liguria, who has decided to give up the Assoluti after the many races in recent weeks.
