The construction of the roster at Emma Villas continues. Yesterday the white and blue club made official the signing of the young central defender Victorio Ceban (in the photo), the tenth operation after the arrivals of Randazzo, Rossi, Nelli, Cattaneo and Melato and the confirmations of Nevot, Bonami, Coser and Trillini. The central defender, born in 2001, born in Ferrara, was the protagonist of a good season with the Castellana Grotte shirt: he put together 212 points, closing the year with 60.6% in attack. He totaled 72 winning blocks, for an average of 0.73 per set; this number puts him on the podium of the players with the highest number of winning blocks in the last championship, in third position. Looking at the statistical performance index, Ceban was the seventh best central defender in the last A2 championship. For him next season will be the fourth in A2, after those of Mondovì, Ravenna and Castellana Grotte.
“I hoped that the negotiation with Siena would materialize, and so it happened – these are Ceban’s first words –. I know that the club always aspires to achieve important goals, when as an opponent you find yourself facing them you always know that it will be complicated to get a result. Furthermore, Siena is a splendid city and it is played in a large, beautiful and historic arena. An important roster has been set up in this market, I am happy to be part of it.” Ceban arrives confident after a good year on a personal level in Puglia. “As far as I’m concerned – he concludes – in the last championship I put together good numbers, even if I’m sad about how the championship ended for the team. However, I feel like I’ve grown a lot, and I hope to continue to do so here. Everyone speaks well by coach Graziosi, I’m sure I can improve further. I’m continuing to train even in the summer, I’ll also do beach volleyball so I can be ready when the pre-season preparation begins.”
