The blue – who won the match in two sets 6-4, 7-6 – was the protagonist of a funny little scene on his serve before the decisive tie-break of the second set.
What happened with the spectator in the stands
The game, which was hotly contested, was 40-40 with Jannik ready to serve: just at that moment a spectator coughed from the stands (although initially on social media there was even talk of a burp, a rumor later denied). The noise annoyed the South Tyrolean who postponed the service bursting out laughing dramatically. The skit went on for a few seconds with the Italian player who just couldn’t stop, imitated shortly afterwards by his colleague Zhang on the other side of the pitch. In the end, after a moment of general hilarity, the match was able to resume normally.
