VR46 in sight for Franco Morbidelli

In just a few days, KTM defined the line-up for 2025, with Acosta-Binder in the official garage and Bastianini-Vinales in Tech3, which effectively becomes a second official structure. The final moves remain to be defined while waiting to know the fate of Pramac Racing.

Morbidelli at home VR46?

The Noale company should soon formalize the arrival of Marco Bezzecchi alongside Jorge Martin, while the American Trackhouse team has yet to plan the next two years. Some doubts still remain on the MotoGP board, including the fate of 29-year-old Franco Morbidelli. After second place in the final standings in 2020, the Italian-Brazilian experienced a decadent phase with Yamaha, until he sought redemption with an official Ducati in the Pramac team. The first part of the championship did not go swimmingly, but at Mugello he finally climbed back into the leading positions with a 4th place in the Sprint and 6th in the race.

With the Borgo Panigale manufacturer he signed an annual contract expiring at the end of 2024. Pramac could join forces with Yamaha starting from the next MotoGP World Championship. In this case his path would find itself at a crossroads: staying on a Ducati in the circle of the VR46 team or returning to the M1. The first option seems the most natural and obvious, given that Bezzecchi’s bike is about to be released.

In the last few hours the news has spread that Joan Mir, despite the great bad mood, is about to reconfirm himself with Honda. His manager Paco Sanchez denied the signing, while underlining that the priority is to remain in the Golden Wing’s factory team. On the other hand, the other positions in the official teams now seem to have already been assigned, so the 2020 world champion would only have to opt for a satellite. Yamaha has reconfirmed Fabio Quartararo, leaving Alex Rins in suspense, who still doesn’t know if he will stay with Iwata’s colors or go and meet Davide Brivio in the Trackhouse.
