Livorno 18 June 2024 – Lions rugby celebration, over 500 Priami members
The most worthy conclusion to a year truly full of goals and satisfactions. The most beautiful finale of a season in which all 11 Amaranth representatives achieved important goals.
The party held on this Sunday in mid-June, at the splendid and functional ‘Emo Priami’ complex in Stagno, was memorable.
A perfectly organized event that gave the opportunity to bring together the entire LundaX Lions Amaranto family: a family that has over 500 members.
During the ‘ceremony’, a very special photo was taken on the central field of the facility in Via Marx, under the door on the north side, with all the numerous Amaranth members present posing.
A photo that will then be printed for the various projects aimed at celebrating the first 25 years of the club’s life next autumn. Yes, because in an absolute sense, the first training session of a Lions team took place on November 6, 1999.
With Emanuele Bertolini as coach, on the pitch, in that ‘historic’ session, eight players under 12 and under 10 showed up. Among them, also Giacomo Bernini, the third row born in 1989 who, after a brilliant professional career (for him also two championships, with Rovigo and Padova), returned in 2019 to the ranks of the club that launched him. ‘Mamo’ Bernini, after hanging up his boots last summer, has taken on the role of coach of the Labronica first team.
There is a great sense of belonging for Amaranth members. It was remembered, with pride, how the Lions (branded LundaX from 2022) is the only Tuscan club capable of presenting, without the collaboration of other clubs, all categories in the planned championships: in addition to the first team, engaged in B , the Livorno players are protagonists with under 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, Prime Mete, Old and Touch teams. After the ‘general’ photo, photos were taken for each team.
After the shots, dinner was consumed, with live music, organized by the Sinners, a group of very young people – Amaranth players and former Amaranth players -. ‘Last but not least’ – it is worth underlining it… – the cake – with the writing Lions Amaranto Livorno – prepared by Loretta Fanella, the pastry shop of the stars, offered to everyone by the councilor Giuseppe Ciaravolo, owner of CBC Costruzioni Srl, one of the sponsors of the same association. A cake definitely appreciated by those present.
And from tomorrow we begin to prepare the big party for the 25th anniversary and, above all, we lay the foundations for the new season. A year, 2024/25, in which, once again, LundaX Lions Amaranto will play, independently, without collaboration with other Tuscan rugby teams, in all the federal and amateur championships managed by the FIR.
