Berghem#molamia: 1,600 in the saddle

More than 1,600 amateurs in the saddle to decree the success of the Berghem#molamia, an event now in its fifth edition which peacefully “invaded” the streets of the valleys on Sunday 16 June (with a stop on Lake Iseo). To be precise 1,617 athletes (149 women and 1,468 men) from all over Italy and also from abroad for the granfondo organized by SC Gazzanighese.

Among the illustrious guests who lined up with their bicycles at the start of the Berghem #molamia, the former professional from Bergamo, winner of two Giro d’Italia, Paolo Savoldellithe professionist Davide Persicowho grew up in the Gazzanighese nursery, the other former professional from Seria Beppe «Turbo» Gueriniwinner of a stage of the Tour de France at Alpe d’Huez, the former cyclist Silvia Pollicinithe Eurosport commentator Luca Gregoriothe Mediaset weather announcer Stefania Andriolathe national president of Acsi Emiliano Borgnathe president of the Mountain Community of Scalve and mayor of Colere Gabriele Bettineschi and the mayor of Gazzaniga Mattia Merelli.

The fastest in the timed sections are Matteo Bertocchi, Maria Donzelli, Matteo Moraschini, Tonia Palmieri and Massimo Agazzi

A characteristic of the Berghem#molamia, increasingly appreciated by cyclists, is the formula of timed sections alternating with long cycling sections, designed to enhance the Orobic Prealps. Stopwatch that decreed the success of Matteo Bertocchi (Morotti Cycles) e Maria Donzelli (Avengers) in the 72.3 km Kürt course; Of Matteo Moraschini (Sbs) e Tonia Palmieri (Lissone) in the Mézz of 115 km; Of Massimo Agazzi in the Lonk (Randonnée) of 183 km.
