Tim Gajserafter yesterday’s success in the Qualifying Race, he also triumphed in race 1 in Maggiora therefore remaining in the running for a possible hat-trick in the Italian Grand Prix 2024, valid as the tenth round of the season World Motocross MXGP class. The Slovenian from Honda prevailed in a splendid challenge with Jorge Prado and Jeffrey Herlings, who reached the finish line in 2″321.

Gajser took the lead of the heat during the first lap, after the holeshot taken by the Swiss Jeremy Seewer (in the end 5th with the Kawasaki), maintaining the leadership until the checkered flag and fending off the forcing of his direct rivals Prado and Herlings, second and third respectively with GasGas and KTM. Bittersweet results for Italy, which achieved a good eighth place with Andrea Bonacorsi (Yamaha) and a decent 13th place with Giuseppe Propepewhile there is disappointment with the 14th final position of Mattia Guadagnini. Thanks to this victory in race 1, Gajser extends his lead in the World Championship to +12 on Prado and +74 on Herlings, while all the others are over 170 points behind.
