Work in progress in the city, the Pnrr funds are also changing the face of Fermo and many of the structures that are being created, north and south of the city. In Marina Palmense, work continues on the construction of the new gym, carried out by the company F.lli Loiudice which, after having completed the structural part of the prefabricated building, is carrying out various interventions such as the preparation of the changing room systems and is completing the painting internal and external pavements and then move on to laying the flooring. With this structure, the city and the neighborhood will have a new sports facility at their disposal, in an area owned by the municipality, which will be made up of two parts, one to host sports activities and the other services. A structure where you can practice various sports, from five-a-side football to volleyball and basketball, with 90 seats. The funding, Pnrr for sport and social inclusion, is worth one million and 700 thousand euros, an important point of aggregation and socialization for the whole city, explains Mayor Calcinaro. “This new gym will represent a further action towards the development of this neighborhood, which is growing more and more”, underlined the deputy mayor Mauro Torresi.
The construction of the new Santa Petronilla social center is also proceeding quickly. The works on site, conducted by the company B-Tekna srl, which in recent days include the preparation of the reinforcements for the pillars. The new centre, which will be built in place of the previous one which was demolished, will have modern and functional characteristics and will be multipurpose: it will be 260 m2 in total, a 110 m2 room, kitchen, services, changing rooms, it will be seismically adequate, with energy levels that will allow great energy savings for heating and lighting. In fact, it will be a structure that will also be equipped with very low consumption lighting fixtures and a photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof. In this case it will be essential to dialogue with the social center, to understand what use to give to the new spaces, close to a clinic which has become a reference point for the city and not only for paediatrics and which is functioning very well and to the gardens with the park which last year they were the subjects of a complete restyling: “After all, recreating a community center was important, precisely because the role of the social center is always of fundamental importance in the neighborhoods and in city life”, comments the mayor Paolo Calcinaro. “We have always believed in the essential role of aggregation and sociality and the reconstruction of this new social center is a new demonstration of this. Attention and care towards places of socialization is an objective that we have always pursued”, added the councilor for social policies Mirco Giampieri.
