URC: lots of South Africa in the best XV of the season

After 18 championship days and with the play-offs still underway, the United Rugby Championship board has made the best XV of the 2023/24 season official.

In the ideal lineup, the Rainbow Nation teams dominate, represented by 8 players, including 6 from the Bulls, one from the Stormers and one from the Sharks. First entirely South African line, with Ox Nche, Akker van der Merwe and Wilco Louw.

Reigning champions Munster offer this Elite XV three players, including the Next-Gen Player of the Season Jack Crowley, increasingly central to the balance of the Red Army and the Irish national team.

Four other players from different clubs complete the picture: John Cooney of Ulster, Sione Tuipulotu of Glasgow Warriors, Jamie Ritchie of Edinburgh and winger Jordan Larmour, back at high level with the Leinster shirt.
