The sixth and final day of the European Athletics Championships in Rome 2024 is scheduled for Wednesday 12 June. Italy leads the medal table with a clear advantage at 20 and today I aim to close the tournament with further successes.
The blue men and women competing
There are several medal opportunities for the national team starting from the 4×100 team event. Here Italy, gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, fields among others Jacobs and Tortu respectively gold and silver at the European Championships in the 100 and 200 m. Very high expectations therefore.
Also on the field were the women’s and men’s 4×400 with the Italians Accame, Trevisan, Borga and Polinari and the Italians Lopez, Aceti, Meli and Scotti.
Opening the Italian program on the final day of the European Championships was Larissa Iapichino in the long jump followed by Pietro Arese, Ossama Meslek and Federico Riva in the 1500 final.
On Wednesday 12 June, the last day of the European Championships, there will be no morning qualifying session. The last finals will start from 8.12pm. Which Long jump, 4x400m relay, 800m and women’s 4x100m relay and pole vault, javelin throw, 4x400m, 10,000m and 1,500m and men’s 4x100m relay.
