It was already clear for some time that Brown wasn’t exactly an admirer of the Austrian team. Even at the beginning of the year, in fact, when the Horner scandal broke, he had attacked the Team Principal on several occasions.

Brown’s words, gray future for Red Bull?

Speaking on the Hot Pursuit podcast, Zak Brown spoke about the current situation at Red Bull. From his point of view, the aftermath of the investigation into Horner is not yet over. According to the McLaren CEO, for the Milton Keynes team worse trouble could come soon.

“Red Bull is a pretty toxic environment right now. There will be other consequences.”Brown ruled.

“Newey’s departure is important, because I think a lot of people in Red Bull started working with him. I already said that CVs were circulating.”

“This happens all the time, but now you notice a greater level of discomfort. I also think that in the future it will be more difficult with sponsors. I think they will look carefully at what they are associated with. It’s a difficult situation.”

Verstappen saying goodbye?

Continuing his analysis, Zak Brown highlighted everything that is happening in the team could lead to a premature farewell for Max Verstappen.

“Are you staying or going? Max has a contract, except his father is quite explicit. Red Bull is a great team, but it is destabilized. You can see that with Newey’s departure.”

“It’s an incredible team, but in my reasoning it’s not as strong as it used to be. If I look at who has the best path of visibility and momentum right now, they are Ferrari and McLaren. However, things can change quickly. We have to keep our feet on the ground.”

It is certainly undeniable that in Milton Keynes they no longer have the advantage they had last year. The rivals are now much closer and every aspect can make a differenceeven off-piste.
