Now it’s official, we’ll never see him again. There is no solution, everything is destined to end this way, what a pain for motorcyclists.

Motorcycling is a commercial sector, but above all a passion that unites millions bikers all over the world. The same ones who know and appreciate each other like a family, for the sole fact of sharing a love as overwhelming and strong as that generated by a two-wheeler.

Precisely for this reason, when a farewell occurs, it is very difficult for the many centaurs to digest it and move on. Unfortunately it is official and there is really nothing that can be done to change the current reality. This, however, absolutely does not mean forgetting and moving on without properly remembering a practically immutable and unforgettable piece of history.

Mourning at the Giro d’Italia: farewell to Nazareno Agosti, Moto 1 at the Giro d’Italia

Unfortunately, the bad news is now official, and for motorcyclists from all over Italy it is really difficult to face these hours with serenity. The fixed thought in fact goes to death of Nazareno Agostini. What until recently was the Moto 1 rider at the Giro d’Italia cyclingpassed away at just 58 years old due to cardiac arrest.

The motorcycle we are telling you about was known for following the lead of the race. There was also an operator on board, Francesco Simula, who shot the footage which was broadcast live. Born in 1966, Agostini moved to Rome when he was still a child, and he grew up there.

From child to boy, from boy to man. Then he landed in Rai in 1990, a professional opportunity that he exploited properly and which made him famous practically throughout Italy. In 2004, on the occasion of the cycling world championships in Verona, a collaboration was born that was destined to remain extraordinarily profitable for about twenty years: that with Francesco Simula. Agostini was also a great bicycle enthusiast, which he was lucky enough to experience and tell in the best way possible, riding his racer-proof motorcycle.

For the rest, there is very little to say. What happened is truly something highly tragic and very difficult to accept, especially considering that we are talking about a true icon behind the scenes of one of the most important sporting events of all. There is nothing left to do but embrace the children and family of Nazareno Agostini, sending our deepest condolences.
