Trasporti Pietro Bressan is ready for the next season in women’s A2, the third of Volley Offanengo in the second national “pink” series. The general manager takes stock Stefano Condinawho is preparing to experience his ninth year of work in the Crema area.
This year the Offanengo Volleyball market moved ahead of the curve: a need dictated by the timing of the market itself?
“Yes, it was a necessity to which I adapted, given that now from the end of the first phase of the championship, therefore during the salvation and promotion pools, the market comes to life and therefore becomes a virtue of necessity.”
What was Volley Offanengo’s philosophy in building the new roster?
“As far as I’m concerned, the philosophy is always the same: look for motivated athletes, with a great desire to work and with characteristics that reflect coach Giorgio Bolzoni’s technical project. Then I always try to set up a group with experienced athletes, because the category is difficult and a girl must be used to different aspects, not just technical ones, and promising young people because the way I interpret sport I have always liked to launch or give opportunities to whoever I believe can make the most of them.”
Summing up, what team has been set up and what objective can it aim for?
“It’s a good team, I really like the market that we managed to make with the approval of the owners (the Bressan family), with coach Giorgio Bolzoni and thanks to the video analysis work that in recent years, in addition to the great collaboration of Fabio Collina (assistant coach, ndc), also has the support of Stefano Rossetti. It’s never easy to identify profiles that can suit the volleyball we have in mind, convince the athletes of the merits of the project and then find agreements with the agents, but in the end I am convinced of one thing: we have set up a good staff. It will be an “edgy” team, which will fight in every match. Our goal will be to enter the field every match and give our best, bringing to Sunday the work, which as always will be a lot, that we will do during the week. Give everything and not finish a race with regrets, then we’ll look at the ranking at the end as always.”
What will be the strong point and what will be the main challenge?
“The strong point will be the staff, I am very proud to have confirmed Giorgio Bolzoni first and foremost and with him all the various collaborators, because they did an excellent job last year, achieving an important objective and even if from the outside everything seemed easy, I assure you that this was not the case, in fact it was a tiring season. I never make bets, whoever was chosen reflects what we were looking for and in a long and difficult championship like Serie A, everyone will be important. There are young people who want to carve out a place for themselves as protagonists, there are those who have already been protagonists for several years and aspire to do well and demonstrate their value or there are those who are returning from a complicated year due to injuries or little space and want redeem yourself. It’s not a bet but the belief that having motivated people, even for different things, is the best thing and having a staff with a work culture is another fundamental aspect, because in the end you start winning matches in training.”
