Leclerc: “Monaco, strong emotion, now Canada. The title? I’m thinking about winning races”

“Monte Carlo? beautiful party, but it’s the past”. Charles Leclerc looks ahead. After the sensational victory at his home, the Monegasque from Ferrari is already projected towards this weekend’s event in Montreal. We must continue on the path undertaken in Monaco, without of course forgetting the joy of these days following the feat.

beautiful days

“In fact they were beautiful days – said Charles – there was a lot of emotion in the factory, in the evening we were together. Winning a Monaco GP represents a lot for anyone and for me in particular, obviously there was something to celebrate about this race. Having said that, all good things come to an end and we must leave them behind. Already from Monday I was focused on preparing for the next race, it was a moment that I will remember forever. But to win the championship you need more, this was just one victory. Once my career is over I will have the opportunity to remember that day and how important it was for me.”

title objective

And so for Leclerc and Ferrari it is time to think about this appointment: “I want to become world champion – said Leclerc – and therefore we need to concentrate on the rest and everything that is missing to do it. Here in Canada I want to do the same job again what we did in Monaco. Monaco was a very favorable track, we have to take the same approach.” With the victory in Monte Carlo the ranking has shortened, maybe we can think about the World Championship? “It’s difficult to say now, we need to keep the same approach, Red Bull is always the reference, Imola, Monaco and this track should be favourable, we have to take every opportunity, we hope to stay ahead of them. I’m not thinking about the championship, but about winning races in every GP and to improve”.
