From 9 to 16 June the Giro Next Gen, in which the most promising riders on the international cycling scene will take part. In 8 days, 8 stages will decide the winner of the pink jersey. The selection of VF Group Bardiani CSF Faizané cIt will include a mix of young talents (including two in their first year in the Under23 category) and experienced athletes, with different characteristics to compete in each stage.

THE STATEMENTS

These are the words of Mirko Rossato, DS who follows and manages the Under23s: “We have a competitive team, a team suitable for all types of courses. This will also be the first participation for Rojas and Turconi, I want them to learn and gain experience, they will be available to our more mature boys but they will also have free reign in the stages in which breakaways will disappear. Our minimum objective is always to win the stage.”

TRAINING
The captain designated for the Giro Next Gen is Alessandro Pinarello, the young Venetian born in 2003, now in his third year as a professional, took second place in the general classification at the Tour of Antalya and won the Palio del Recioto Grand Prix.

To followand two first-year athletes in the category such as the Chilean Vicente Rojas, fourth at the Frankfurt Under23 GP, great protagonist of the Alpès Iserè Tour, where he took second place in the fourth stage and fourth place in the fifth stage. Also underway Filippo Turconi from Varesethe youngest of the team, born in 2005, third this year at the Marble GP.

For the sprints, the team will focus on the promising Lorenzo Conforti, who after several second places will look for the much desired first career victory. Equipped with a quick start, in the current season he took second place at the Poreč Trophy, at the GP Goriska and in the second stage of the Istrian Spring Trophy.

Matteo Scalco from Vicenza will also take part in the pink racein his second year as a professor, last year 17th in the general classification at the Giro Next Gen.

The training ends the young Modenese Luca Paletti, ninth overall at the recent Alpes Iserè Tour, where he demonstrated excellent climbing skills in the queen stage.
