First direct match between the two teams, with the winning duo of the match finding Dolheide/Krawczyk or Gauff/Siniakova in the final.
The Italians come to this event after having racked up nine consecutive victories between Rome and Paris. In the Transalpine Slam they beat Babos/Khromacheva, Linette/Pera, Anshba/Detuc and Navarro/Shnaider in series. During their journey the Italians did not lose any sets, testimony to the state of form that accompanies them this season on clay.
Kostyuk/Ruse also had an immaculate progress to the semi-finals thanks to victories in two sets over Burel/Paquet, Bouzkova/Sorribes Tormo and Fernandez/Routiffe. The Ukrainian and the Romanian did not play in the quarter-finals thanks to the forfeit of the Russians Andreeva/Zvonareva.
The Roland Garros semi-final between Paolini/Errani and Kostyuk/Ruse will be the third match on Court Simonne-Mathieu from 11.00 after Dechy/Parmentier-Pennetta/Davenport (double legends) and Granollers/Zeballos-Arevalo/Pavic, and in any case not will start before 1pm.
