Roland Garros, Alcaraz reaches the semi-final and finds Sinner. Tsitsipas loses amid controversy

As per prediction: Carlos Alcaraz reaches the semi-final at Roland Garros clearly beating the Greek in three sets Stefanos Tsitsipas. It was essentially a one-sided match with the Spaniard who, apart from a small missed pass in the second set, always had total control of the match and on Friday there will once again be the comparison with Sinner.

Alcaraz without difficulty

Carlos Alcaraz doesn’t seem to want to waste time in his quarter-final against Tsitsipas and in the first game of the match he immediately broke. The Spaniard dominates in the first set with the Greek unable to find any countermeasure to stop the Spaniard who practically never risks and in the ninth game he also scores the second break and closes with a very comfortable 6-3.

In the second set the music doesn’t change with Carlitos who immediately scores the break but when the match seems headed towards 2-0, the Greek manages to place the counterbreak and drag the match to a tiebreak. Once again in the decisive moment Tsitsipas fails to find continuity in the decisive points and the 2-0 comes for the Spaniard. In the third the Greek tries to keep his opponent’s pace until 3-3 then it is once again Carlitos to put the high gearsand to win the victory quite clearly with a score of 6-4.

The Tsitsipas controversy

Stefanos Tsitsipas he appeared particularly nervous during the match and especially at the end of the second quarter when the Greek complained to the referee (the same one that had “helped” him beat Sinner in Monte Carlo, ed) due to his opponent’s overly prolonged “screams”. “I never complain about this but it’s frustrating, right before I hit I still hear his grunt”.

Sinner-Alcaraz: the challenge returns

The semi-finals of Roland Garros will be played on Friday with Jannik Sinner which he finds on his way to the final once again rival and friend Carlos Alcaraz. The precedents between the two on the ATP circuit are in perfect parity (4-4) with the Spaniard having prevailed in the last meeting, the final of the Masters 1000 in Indian Wells. In the other semi-final there will certainly be the Norwegian Casper Ruud (thanks to Djokovic’s forfeit) while the other semi-finalist will come from the match between Zverev and de Minaur.
