Djokovic is aiming for the title, despite the less than perfect conditions the Serbian always thinks about that result and remains among the favourites.
John McEnroe spoke bluntly to Eurosport’s microphones: “I read that Novak Djokovic needs a coach, I think all this is ridiculous. Basically, according to people, he needs a permanent person to tell him what to do on the pitch and not I don’t agree with this theory at all.”
McEnroe explained his statements thus: “If he wants someone around, that’s fine with me. It worked incredibly well because no one, whether he or any of his fans, would have ever dreamed of seeing him win 24 Grand Slam titles.
I remember a match against Monfils, he won in five sets and I thought he was good and brave but if someone had told me he would have won 24 Slams I would have called him crazy.”
