Weightlifting, Lucrezia Magistris qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics

Welcome news arrives in Italy, from the specialty of weightlifting. Lucrezia Magistris got it officially qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The International Olympic Weightlifting Federation has published, in fact, the latest version of the ranking list of qualified athletesfollowing the screening due to duplicate nationalities and the choices of individual countries with respect to the category in which to compete.

Taking into account the decisions, all rankings have undergone changesone of which involved the 59 kg categoryin which the Italian competes. Magistris rose to tenth place in the ranking. For the local athlete, therefore, the 217 kg lifted at the Doha Grand Prix in December 2023 remain valid, when she had set all the new Italian category records: 102 kg of snatch, 115 of clean and 217 kg of total.

With this pass, the Italian contingent of the aforementioned discipline rises to three units in the Five Circles eventremembering the Olympic cards already obtained by Sergio Massiddathird in the category up to 61 kg, and from Nino Pizzolatosixth in the category up to 89 kg.
