Albissola Marina. High level show in Albissola Marina for the B1 3000 tournament organized by Riviera Beach Volley at the conclusion of the event entitled “Back to the sea 2”.

The Milanese Federico Geromin (tournament MVP) and Matteo Camozzi won a very tight final in the third set against the Ligurian Simone Podestà and the very young Nicolas Brucini. Third place for the timeless Davide Dal Molin, two-time Italian champion and still in great shape despite being 48 years old, and the promising talented Turin player Raoul Acerbi.

Surprise fourth place for the Chiavari duo Fabbri-Bastogi capable of defeating the highly rated Seregni-Siccardi 2-1 in the round of 32. Such was the technical level that athletes of the caliber of Andrea Lupo, brother of the champion Daniele, paired with Fabrizio Mussa, the increasingly rising Ravenna Spadoni-Luisetto, Martino-Copelli and the brothers placed fifth and seventh respectively. “It was an exceptional level event – ​​explains Alessio Marri, president of Riviera Beach Volley – with a Beach B1 series we attracted champions and athletes from the front row who participate in the absolute Italian championship, basically the Serie A of beach volleyball”. In fact, over 27 couples came from all over Italy to battle on the 3 fields of the Lido Spa Resort and Soleluna Beach plus the two fields set up for the occasion on the two free municipal beaches in the centre, respectively field 4 Retificio Far and field 5 Menabrea , main sponsor of the event.

“Albissola Marina in this union with Riviera Beach Volley – commented the mayor Gianluca Nasuti – confirms itself as the capital of Liguria also for beach volleyball with events that attract the strongest athletes in Italy”.

Also noteworthy is the excellent federal technical management of the event by the supervisor Angelo Esposito assisted in the referee management by Valeria Ferrarese, referee manager. In two weekends, 90 couples participated in the competitions organized by Riviera Beach Volley, a figure that acquires even more value if we consider that the Beach Volley Marathon in Bibione was taking place at the same time and in this last weekend Kiklos in Bellaria Igea Marina. This concludes the RBV “Back to the sea 2” event which brought together over 1400 athletes in total in the 4 locations of Santo Stefano al Mare, Alassio, Laigueglia and finally Albissola Marina, where Riviera beach Volleyball (together with Finale Ligure) opened its doors starting from 2015, bringing 2 stages of the Italian championship in 2022 and 2023, the first historic ones ever held in the province of Savona, enhancing the historical tradition of Albissolese in this sporting discipline.
