Big news for the Japanese brand ready to make history: this small detail changes, bringing customers back to the old system.

In the last few years it wasn’t just the automotive market to see the introduction of many technological discoveries that have drastically changed the way we drive and in general, we experience the passion for engines. Let’s just think about the field of motorcycles where, for example, there has been an enormous increase in the use of technologies such as to-the-wire and insistent research in the field of electronics.

Obviously in a similar panorama a company like Yamaha does not stand idly by. The Japanese company, which has many beloved models in its list, is progressing in step with the times. The latest among the most shocking news is the brand’s decision to say goodbye to the civilian models of the R1 and R6, moving on to production only of these bikes for the track, all because of European ecological policies.

Another novelty concerns another very important model of the brand’s price list, ready to be totally upset if the rumors prove to be true. This time, however, there is no talk of removing the motorbike from production, fortunately, only of modifying its on-board equipment with a renowned technology that “loses” something in favor of greater simplicity.

Yamaha, the news is well founded

At the heart of the matter is the Yamaha MT-07 that is, a sporty naked two-wheeler introduced in 2014 for customers looking for a versatile vehicle, easy to drive and very nice to show off on the road. The two-wheeler is currently available in various configurations on the brand’s price list at a price starting from 7,999 euros and with a very rich range of on-board options.

After the introduction of the E-Clutch patent created by its great rival Honda for motorcycles, a sort of automatic transmission that will make driving some models smoother and much less demanding, not even Yamaha could stand by and watch the company decide to introduce something similar. According to various sources, the brand has filed a patent for the use of an automatic gearbox on a model.

This is precisely the MT-07 which could soon also be sold with this option. For the moment they are only speculations, but in the documents filed by the brand we already see something interesting: the line of the MT-07 is heavily revised with the absence of pedal and clutch and, in their place, a Formula One style button gearbox mounted on the handlebar. Something similar had been seen on the FJR 1300 but this news it will certainly bring some more innovation: we just have to be patient.
