As far as the topic of engines is concerned, those of Tesla are produced in-house at Giga Nevadaand in particular, the cars of the company Elon Musk they use three-phase AC powertrains. This is a type of alternating current motor, and as we know, there are models that can be chosen with both a single and double thruster, and the latter are known as Dual Motor.
We remind you that Tesla also has a plant in Europe, the one located in Germany, on the outskirts of Berlin, where the Model Y is built, with as many as 5,000 units churned out per week.
According to rumours, this will be the production site responsible for the construction of the Model 2, i.e. the low-cost electric vehicle from the Texan company, which is expected for 2025 and which should cost around 25,000 euros, even if no more news arrives for some time now on this highly anticipated model, which could revolutionize the BEV market.
As regards the engines, therefore, Tesla produces everything in house and has no external suppliersalthough, obviously, there are partnerships regarding some components, as in everything else.
Certainly, the moment is not the best for Musk and his associates, but with the arrival of new models things could settle down, even if Chinese competition is an enormous danger, and to combat it a significant cut in production costs is necessary.
