Ravenna returns to play for the trophy thirteen years after the last and only time
Consar Ravenna gives Grottazzolina no chance in the semi-final of the A2 Italian Volleyball Cup and gains access to the final, thirteen years after the only time: at the Cuneo sports hall at 5.30pm today, 12 May, they will face Brescia.
A high-level match in every fundamental way for the Ravenna team who defeated Yuasa Battery 3-0 in Cuneo and avenged their defeat in the championship playoffs. Orioli, deployed as opposite, was relentless, with his 19 points (two aces, one block) and 68% in attack. A tactical system that proves to be suitable for the match. We were all good, we played a great game – underlines Mattia Orioli – with a lot of coverage, and we worked well in defense, and the understanding with the setter was also good. During the week we worked a lot on the situation with the three spikers. We are waiting for our fans, and we will give our best in the final tomorrow too.”
«Team test, in which everyone gave their contribution – adds Jan Feri, who hit an ace at the end of the match which was decisive for the result -: we were good in the first two sets at limiting errors and we were constant in the game and in putting them under pressure, even when in many phases they defended well and it wasn’t easy to put the ball on the ground. In all the fundamentals we managed to express ourselves at our best.”
