Sudden resignation and earthquake in Formula 1: the official announcement arrives that shocks everyone, no one expected it
One week from the next Grand Prix which will be held here in Italy, precisely in Emilia-Romagna, the world of Formula 1 was shaken by a sudden announcement that left everyone breathless.
In fact, on Wednesday the resignation arrived Natalie Robyn, first CEO in the history of the FIA, who has decided to abandon his position by the end of the month.
Robyn’s resignation was truly sudden and took everyone by surprise, triggering a real earthquake in the motoring world.
Robyn had accepted the FIA president’s proposal Ben Sulayem just a year and a half ago to try to renew the International Federation and make it more sustainable from an economic point of view, but in the end the CEO of the FIA chose to join, aware that he had given everything.
Furthermore, at the basis of Robyn’s decision, there is also nostalgia given that the current CEO of the FIA has expressed his desire to return to the automotive sector where he has worked for 15 years.

Having become CEO of the FIA just 18 months ago, Natalie Robyn is now ready to return to the automotive sector. The CEO gave her all to renovate the structure and make it more sustainable from a financial point of view, therefore believing that she had had her day as underlined in the official announcement.
Robyn, in fact, made it known as the FIA has a more solid foundation to face “the challenges that await her in the future”, towards which she can look with optimism. Although it was a farewell agreed with President Ben Sulayem, the loss of Robyn is a very hard blow for the FIA, considering how important a figure like him was.
The FIA president himself paid tribute to the one who was the first CEO of the FIA, underlining the excellent work done by Robyn: “He contributed to a broad reorganization of both our operational and management structure, achieving good financial sustainability. On behalf of the FIA, I wish you well in your future endeavors.” he declared, thanking her heartily.
Robyn’s is the third farewell within the FIA in the space of a year after they left their role in 2023 Steve Nielsen, sports director at the time, e Tim Goss who was the technical director of the single-seater. A year later, a new earthquake has shaken the FIA and the world of Formula 1 and there is no doubt that Robyn’s resignation has left everyone stunned.
