With the arrival of the new regulations in 2027, the arrival of other manufacturers in the MotoGP world championship comes into play. BMW Motorrad is one of those manufacturers, after the brand director, Markus Flasch, showed clear intentions to join the most recognized motorsport in the world of two wheels.

In an interview with Speed Week, Marcus Flasch spoke about the possibility of moving up to a higher category, but first he must be successful in the categories he is in, namely WSBK.

– When everyone starts from scratch, it’s time to get started, but until then you have to be successful in what you do. For me, it is not possible to move to a higher category without being successful. This is out of the question for me.

Flasch, who has a close relationship with promoter Dorna, spoke about the German manufacturer’s chances of joining the premier class: ‘This will be a sober and widely supported decision. Every important decision like this has broad support in a company like BMW, and the preparation must be done carefully and justified.’
