In the first meeting that took place today between the new president of Port André Villas-Boas and the coach Sergio Conceicao there was no mention of the coach’s future. The Portuguese newspaper ‘A Bola’ revealed it: Villas-Boas introduced himself to the team together with Andoni Zubizarreta, the new sporting director, and Pereira da Costa, the club’s financial director.
During the meeting – we read – the new president conveyed great ambition to the team, which was also very well received by coach Sérgio Conceição and the rest of the technical staff. The new helmsman of the dragoes he especially showed concern for the upcoming matches against Boavista, Sporting Braga and, above all, for the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting CP.
However, there was no talk about the future of Sergio Conceicao, nor about the transfer market, everything postponed in due time. Not good news for Milan given that Conceicao – among the first targets for the Rossoneri bench – still has a very long contract in place (before the change of president he had renewed with Porto until 30 June 2028).
