CASALBORDINO. It will start from Piazza Umberto I in Casalbordino, next May 15th at 12.30 pm, the Giro-E, a unique experience of its kind worldwidewhich takes place on the days and on the roads of the Giro d’Italia.
Departure of the 11th stage, therefore, from Casalbordino, the e-bike tour, organized by RCS sportwas strongly supported by the municipal administration which has been working since last year, on the occasion of the start of the Giro d’Italia on the Costa dei Trabocchi, to bring it to the area.
The cycling event is included in the calendar of the Italian Cycling Federation and allows normally trained cyclists to tackle the climbs that champions usually travel, retracing their route.
The Giro-E will cross Casalbordino passing through Viale dei Tigli and Via Osimo, to then arrive at Francavilla al Mare; the arrival is under the same arch as the Giro d’Italia, as is the award ceremony, on the same podium. But that’s not all: on the same day that Casalbordino has the honor of hosting, a workshop organized by Anci, the National Association of Italian Municipalities, on the valorization of tangible and intangible heritage will be held.
“We have been working since last year to bring this world-class event, in order to shine a spotlight on the city, making it known and appreciated outside the borders” said the Mayor Filippo Marinucci.
The Sports Councilor Umberto D’Agostino instead it underlines how “the sporting event will be an opportunity to involve local associations in this high-level event, diversifying the types of sports that can be practiced”.
The Administration, therefore, is preparing as best it can to welcome athletes, onlookers, tourists, citizens and all the staff involved in the event.
“It is an important opportunity for our city, on which we have worked to try to give an increasingly wider scope to Casalbordino, making it known, so that there is an economic return that can enhance the excellence of our territory” concluded the Deputy Mayor Carla Zinni.
