After much chatter over the past few days, today could finally be the day day of truth for Sergio Conceiçao. The technician of Port for seven seasons today will meet the new president of the club Andrè Villas Boas, himself a former Dragoes coach, who won the elections ten days ago, ousting Pinto da Costa after 42 years. Conceiçao-Porto: the situation

The problem lies around the fact that Conceiçao had openly supported the historic number one Pinto da Costa. And that was part of the outgoing president’s program keep the coach on the bench: in fact it was shortly before the elections announced a contract renewal until 2028. This agreement, however, in the event of Pinto da Costa’s defeat, can be canceled by Conceiçao himself. And this will be precisely what today’s meeting will focus on: What is the Villas Boas project? Is there room for Conceiçao? From Portugal they expect a tense meeting and that in the end the paths may part. Time will tell.
Priority to AC Milan
In all this the Milan stands at the window. Sergio Conceiçao’s name for the post Pioli is a nice name. In recent days the Portuguese coach has gained positions in the hierarchy of the management of Via Aldo Rossi also thanks to work of Jorge Mendes who pushes for a marriage between his client and the Rossoneri club. Among the many names made, that of Conceiçao would also appear satisfy the fans’ requests: it is a coach who knows how to win (10 trophies in 7 years with Porto), with wide international experience and with a good hand on young talents. In recent years, his Porto has produced champions of the caliber of Vitinha, Luis Diaz, Eder Militao, Otavio… With a CV like that, it cannot be just Milan that has made contact, and yet Conceiçao would have the Devil at the top of his list. According to what La Rosaa reports, if the talks with Villas Boas do not go well – as expected – the coach’s priority would be Milan. Everything would therefore be in the hands of Milan who wants to wait for the end of the championship both to greet Pioli and to make the new coach official: the club is evaluating all the options on the table and does not want to make a hasty choice.
