Marino Volleyball (Under 14 female), Di Lucca: “To the quarter-finals to play our cards”

It is the decisive moment of the Marino Volleyball women’s Under 14 season. Coach Marco Di Lucca’s girls reached the quarter-finals of the provincial draw after placing second at the end of the regular phase and after eliminating Green Volley in the round of 32 and Volley School of Ardea (among other things, finishing ahead of the marinesi in the first phase group) in the round of 16.

The opponent in the quarterfinals is a really tough one, but coach Di Lucca is confident in another good performance from his girls: “We’ll see it against Apsia Roma XVI playing on Sunday at home and the return match on Saturday 18 May away. Honestly we don’t know the opponents on a technical level, from some images we have seen that they are a physically structured team and then they have really important numbers, considering that they have never lost so far all season.

But even with Volley School Ardea, an undefeated team up until the match against us and which among other things had beaten us both times in the first phase group, we started as underdogs on paper and then managed to get through to the round. The path of this group so far is absolutely positive, there has been an exponential growth that has marked the entire season and now we arrive at the decisive moment of the year in great physical and mental conditions.

Our initial goal, among other things, was to get through the round of 16, the round in which we stopped last year. But obviously we won’t enter the field to “spend time”, but with the desire to try to get through another round. We don’t want to set limits and we will take the field with respect for the opponent, but without fear” concludes Di Lucca.
