GROSSETO – The agreement has just been finalized with the last super guest of the Grosseto Volleyball Master Camp, who will benefit from the professionalism of Francesco Biribanti, former Serie A1 and national player. Francesco will be in contact with the young athletes from Grosseto from Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th July, in the fourth week of the red and white club’s summer camp.

Umbrian from Terni, born in 1976, Biribanti is nicknamed “Mr. Ace” having won a scudetto and a European champion title with the national team and nicknamed him because of his winning innings, so much so that he reached 300 in the year in which he wore the Trenwalder Modena shirt. From a sporting point of view, he grew up in the youth team of Sisley Treviso, at just 19 years old he joined the first team where he won the scudetto with Montali on the bench, from there he began to move around to still leave his mark: Loreto, Fano, Ravenna, Palermo, for then arriving in Latina in 2001, in the then Icom, where he found his consecration, always accompanied by his inseparable number 12, that of his idol, Zorzi.
In Latina Francesco Biribanti will remain there until 2006, with Molducci on the bench and in the following years with Santilli, “Biri” becomes the driving force of that team, exalting the crowd with every ball put on the ground, attracting the celebrations of a stadium completely delirious for his plays, for his number 12. He contributed together with his teammates, in the various seasons, we mention Pascual, Mascagna, Torre, Spanakis, Vujevic, Geric, Molteni, Saitta, Fortunato, Dennis, Gustavo, Grbic, Bjelica , to overturn a city, to proclaim them idols, a Latina who didn’t really like following volleyball, but who rediscovered her enthusiasm, filling the PalaBianchini to capacity every time Biri and co played.

His performances were always played to the maximum, so much so that in the 2002/03 championship he became the “best scorer” of the tournament, which earned him the call up to the national team for the European Championships in Germany, winning the gold medal with the national team and with which played a total of 49 races. With the Latina shirt, Biri also achieved a personal record, scoring 36 points in the match against Ferrara, a record broken only eleven years later by the Serbian Starovic, who put an extra ball on the ground in a single match. After two seasons played in the ranks of Marmi Lanza Verona (2006-07) and Famigliulo Corigliano (2007-08), he was hired by BreBanca Lannutti Cuneo for the 2008-09 season. For the 2009-2010 season he played for the Trenkwalder Modena team playing in Serie A1. In 2011 he played with Payakan Tehran in the Iranian championship. In 2012 he moved to Serie A2 in Volley Tricolore Reggio Emilia. In 2013 he moved to Lamezia Terme to play with Fusion Volley Ilsap Lamezia in Serie B1. Finally he returned to Latina in 2014 to play with Hydra Volley Latina in Serie B1.
Great satisfaction from the Grosseto club, which heartily thanks Francesco for accepting his invitation.
