INJURY PREVENTION COURSE: ALL THE INFORMATION

Benetton Rugby and Verde Sport with its Sports Business School, after “Stronger than Before”, “Return to Performance” and the “Sports Functional Bandage” are pleased to present the arrival of a new course, namely the “Injury prevention”.

A course that consolidates the aim of combining the experience in the physiotherapy field of the Biancoverde Club with the training drive that is one of the souls of Verde Sport, together with a luxury partner, namely the Trentino Volleyball. The course, lasting two days, will aim to explore the world of prevention, to understand what has been done so far, what is being done and where we can go to optimize this aspect as much as possible.

Topics covered:

The topics developed and addressed during the two-day course are:

  • Introduction to the concepts of correlation, prediction, prevention and risk management
  • Types and history of prevention in the field of sports medicine
  • Can a sports injury be prevented?
  • The main traumatic and non-traumatic injuries of professional volleyball players
  • Screening tests: what role do they play in preventing sports injuries?
  • Sleep and injuries: overview of the literature available today
  • Athlete recovery strategies and methods: general overview and indications deriving from scientific literature.

Can an injury really be prevented? What tools are at our disposal? Which jobs give the best results? We will see all these aspects then going into the details of volleyball: i teachers they are professionals Trentino Volleyball.

Thanks to them we will be able to see in practice everything that a professional team puts into play to try to minimize the risk of injury: from I work in the gym at the sleep management and of thediet.

The course “Injury Prevention” is edited by:

Giacomo Mazzon (Scientific Coordinator)

Head of physiotherapists at Benetton Rugby Treviso, a professional rugby team participating in the United Rugby Championship. He also had experience in international rugby, collaborating with the senior national team for test matches and the 6 Nations Tournament. Graduated in Physiotherapy and subsequently Master in Rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal Disorders, he also continues his activity in the outpatient setting.

Luca Pirani (Teacher)

Pirani Luca, 34 years old, graduated in Physiotherapy from the University of Brescia in 2012. Level I Master in Rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders from the University of Genoa obtained in 2018. Master in Sports Psychology from UniCusano achieved in 2023. Work experience in hospitals, in private practice and in professional men’s basketball and volleyball sports clubs. For two years (2022-2023) physiotherapist of the female youth sector of the Italian Volleyball Federation during national and international summer activities. Experience as a speaker in the world of university training for fellow physiotherapists and athletic trainers as well as for volleyball coaches both online and in person. For three years, he has been responsible for the physiotherapy area of ​​men’s Trentino Volley, a club that became Italian champion in the 2022-2023 season.

Lorenzo Barbieri (Teacher)

31 years old, Piacentino, sports enthusiast since childhood and amateur footballer until the age of 24. Graduated with honors from the State University of Milan in the faculty of Sports Sciences and Techniques, with a thesis ‘Use of Velocity Based Training – VBT – applied to the ½ Squat exercise in elite volleyball players‘. He began working as a coach and athletic trainer in an amateur football club in Piacenza, satellite of the youth sector of FC Inter, and then began his professional career in the world of professional volleyball. First Piacenza, then Perugia, Aragon and for four years in Trento. Interspersed with two summer seasons with the South Korea senior men’s national team.

Alfonso Presutto (Teacher)

Professional passionate about health, well-being and sport, for years committed to teaching the importance of following a correct, conscious and balanced eating style to maintain a young, active and healthy body. Expert sports nutrition and nutraceutical professional with many years of experience in the pharmacological and nutraceutical sector. Figure capable of evaluating individual nutritional needs applied to energy demands using appropriate methods and techniques and developing the best action strategy in agreement with the person, taking into account the physiological and pathological history and any obstacles and resistance to change and promoting relationships of trust and therapeutic alliance.

The course Injury Prevention will be held in Trent Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2024 at “T Quotidiano Arena”Via Fersina, 11, 38123 Trento TN.

Logistical and organizational information

The two-day course includes both theoretical frontal teaching and practical sessions in the gym.
It is therefore required to equip yourself with sports clothing and sneakers in order to access the specific spaces dedicated to practical sessions.

Agenda of the day

Saturday 25th*: from 9.00 to 18.00, with 1 hour lunch break (from 13.00 to 14.00)
– Sunday 26: from 9.00 to 18.00, with 1 hour lunch break (from 13.00 to 14.00)

* On Saturday 25th, attendance is required at 8.30 am for participant registration, delivery of the welcome kit, etc.

Who is it aimed at:

Our courses are open to graduates in Physiotherapy and Sports Sciences and, in some cases, access to third year students of Physiotherapy and Sports Sciences.

Certifications:

We forwarded to GIS Sports AIFI the request of certification of the skills provided of courses, necessary to achieve the Italian SPT certification.

The certification will also be recognized for third year Physiotherapy students and will be valid once the degree is obtained.
