The Argentine striker is ready to join the Nerazzurri club until 2029: there is a reason though if the announcement will be postponed by a few weeks
The soap opera is nearing its end. “The time for the new contract is about to come”, writes the Gazzetta dello Sport about Lautaro Martinez. Important news arrives on the future of the Nerazzurri captain: “From Madrid, 13 March, the day of the last meeting between Inter and the agent Alejandro Camano, something else happened. And everything in the direction hoped for by the Nerazzurri world. After the end of the championship , in all likelihood before Toro’s departure for the America’s Cup, the new agreement will be signed, which will tie the captain even more closely to the Nerazzurri.”
So what is missing to close the deal? The fans rightly ask this and the roseate tries to answer. “The managers must evidently wait for the definition of the loan refinancing operation by Zhang, without which it is not possible to proceed to the operational phase of the renewals: this applies to Toro, but also to Inzaghi and Barella”.
However, this does not preclude the possibility of carrying forward the dialogues. An agreement is thus approaching which will soon only need to be ratified. The signature could be postponed by a few weeks, but this is simply for a bureaucratic reason. In fact, the Gazzetta specifies: “The new deadline will be, at least according to the latest talks, 2029, effectively a new five-year period starting from July 1st: this is why the officiality, net of the actual signature, could be postponed to July. A couple of curiosities on the sidelines of the agreement to come: there is no termination clause. The parties have never discussed it, Lautaro has never asked for it, it has never been on the table as an eventuality.” But that is not all. Because there is another step to underline: the new contract will provide for bonuses. And some of these will be linked not only to victories, but also to the European and international path – therefore the Club World Cup – that Inter will manage to make Here too the dialogues of the last few weeks have been fruitful.”
