Covisoc case: Gravina asks to meet Abodi. The minister available: summit by v

Here is the first formal move from the world of football. The meeting at the FIGC headquarters lasted an hour and 40 minutes and saw all federal members present to address the issue of the creation by government decree of a body to control the accounts of Serie A teams in place of Covisoc. Having registered the “unanimous opposition to the project to establish the so-called ‘Agency for the economic and financial supervision of professional sports clubs’, as presented in the draft sent last Friday 3 May by the Ministry for Sport”, President Gabriele Gravina asked to the Minister of Sport, Abodi to open an urgent discussion on the topic, together with the president of Coni Malagò. During the meeting, various formal and substantial critical issues were highlighted and the maximum willingness to discuss while respecting the autonomy of sport was evident from now on.

the answer

Abodi’s availability for the meeting arrived by return post. We are therefore moving towards a summit, which will inevitably take place by Friday, when the decree will go to the Council of Ministers. Abodi will therefore meet in a very short time “the Presidents of FIGC, Lega Serie A, Lega B, Lega Pro, LND and the technical components, trusting that we can contribute together to achieving the objective of configuring a third party instrument, hopefully in the interest common goal of making the national football system more efficient, credible, sustainable and competitive”.
