The great fever of the Giro in Biella: the anticipation on the roads grows

A great chaos, tinged with pink. Giro fever has been felt in Biella since the early hours of today. All the towns touched by the route of the second stage responded presently, coloring the streets with banners, balloons and flowers.

The capital was no exception, but the most intense passion could be felt on the road leading to Oropa. From Bottalino to the Prato delle Oche, going up to the Sanctuary is a full immersion in the love of cycling.

The road is closed to traffic (excluding passes) and so amateur cyclists and walkers enjoyed a comfortable and safe climb. On the sides of the road, a riot of flags: the warmest are the South American fans – Argentines, Colombians and Ecuadorians in particular – but Belgium, Holland and the United Kingdom were also well represented.

The area around Oropa is ready: the stage set up, the billboards placed on the side of the road, the feverish wait. The clouds loom threateningly, a classic of every self-respecting weekend in Biella. But this is not just any Sunday.

Crowds also in Valdengo, home to a flying finish line and starting point of the electric bicycle race: alongside the Valdengo influencer Elisa Scarlatta some mayors and administrators, including Roberto Pella, Giacomo Moscarola, Francesca Delmastro, Paolo Maggia and the president of the Province Emanuele Ramella.
