May 3, 2024

Filippo Farioli was born in Bergamo on 4 April 2005 (same day as Loris Capirossi); Luca Lunetta was born in Rome on 27 May 2006: they are the two drivers chosen by Paolo Simoncelli for the 2024 season of the Sic58 team.

Farioli, as is normal considering his family, started with motocross (“Until 2017”), and then choose the speed. “My family certainly gave me a lot of passion – says Filippo -. But there is no shortage of negative aspects: many think that I only got to the world championship thanks to my surname. But that’s not the case: I have made many sacrifices.”

Lunetta’s path is different. “I started when I was five years old straight away with minibikes. My dad would have wanted me to play golf… But with motorbikes it was love at first sight: my family has always supported me.”

In the podcast, the two pilots talk about how school went, what kind of relationship they had with the teachers: Farioli attended applied sciences high school until the third grade (“Unfortunately the teachers didn’t help me”); Lunetta also stopped in the third year of sports science high school (“I more or less had the same problems as Filippo: you reach a point and you have to make a choice”). And with friends, what does a kid who has made it to the world championship have to give up? And how did they get to the Sic58 team? “I have always seen this team as a point of reference, I have always raced with the number 58” Luca gets almost emotional. “I had a contract with KTM supported by Tech3; I hadn’t received any news at Misano, I was afraid of being out of the world championship. But on Saturday evening my dad met with Paolo, on Sunday I signed” reveals Filippo.

In the podcast, Lunetta and Farioli talk about their relationship with Paolo Simoncelliwhy young Spanish boys are more competitive, what are the strengths and weaknesses of their teammate.

A podcast with three voices, fun and different from the usual: the 161st episode of , is online on Moto.it and on audio platforms starting from 9.00 am on Sunday 5 May.
