Ibra: “Cardinal made me an unmissable offer”

When Ibrahimovic chooses to speak he always brings out a different point of view, an extra anecdote, a non-trivial thought. This time he sat opposite his compatriot Anas Bukhash, a YouTuber with 2.5 million followers who interviews well-known figures from the world of sport and entertainment. The podcast, called ABTalkshosted Ibra during the Easter period, giving various insights into his life after football.

new life

These are his words regarding his new role at Milan, that of senior advisor to the club: “Cardinale made me an offer that I couldn’t refuse. I’ve been at Milan for three or four months and it’s going well.” Another life compared to playing football: “Now it’s different, it’s true. Because of my ego it was difficult to stop. I still think I’m the best, I could have continued, but I chose to stop because I wanted to do things in more with my children. If I had continued, I wouldn’t have been able to do things because of knee problems. I got to a point where I said ‘enough, now begins a new chapter in my life’.”

family

Ibra also spoke about his wife Helena and the relationship with his family: “He always tells me to remember who has taken care of me over the years. She gave up her career for me, she accompanied me in everything I have done and put everything aside. In a relationship you don’t have to have a big ego, but rather a 50-50% each. People may also think that we are a family that loves to live a luxurious life, but Helena washes and kitchen. We only have one cleaner. I take the kids to school and pick them up from practice they went to pick up the children, or a driver. We have never been like that.”

raiola

Ibra also spoke about the passing of his historic agent, Mino Raiola, who passed away on 30 April 2022: “It was a hard blow. I cried a lot. And it’s not over yet because sometimes I get flashbacks. I miss him. Everyone who knows me and him understands how close we were. If I could text him right now I would write to him that I miss him…”.
