The reconstruction of Rugby Novi
It is bearing abundant fruit the crowd-funding campaign launched by Rugby Novi to deal with the damage caused by the storm of March 31st. “Just two weeks after launch, the response has been massive and exciting” says green and white president Michael Pierse, “many friends wanted to contribute and this allowed us to immediately rebuild the PalaOrsetti, the tensile structure destroyed by bad weather. However, our commitment continues, there is still work to do and we plan to continue with our initiative until mid-May. This is also thanks to the active collaboration of the Sports Department of the Municipality of Novi Ligure and the SportInNovi company, which support us in technical matters”.
The company has already fixed an inauguration of the new structures, organizing a party for June 2nd. “Attention towards rugby is growing, it is a sport that is always gaining new fans” says Pierse again, “We also have concrete examples in Novi. For example, we received an invitation from the Rotary Club for a meeting where we will present both rugby as a discipline and the activity that Novi carries out for the children and young people of the area”.
The young bears will return to the field this Saturday: the Under 12s in San Mauro Torinese, the Under 8s and 10s in Grugliasco, for a day that the Rugby Federation has called “Colour Festival”, where the boys will play with elements of other clubs, to improve their technical and vision skills of the game. A test that will serve to cultivate the technical qualities of all the kids, regardless of the competitive commitment that will return in subsequent groupings.
