Sixth place Alessandro Dante of the Arvedi Cycling Team in the fifth General Store Grand Prix which was held in Sant’Ambrogio Valpolicella in the Veronese area. An important result for a boy in his first year of category in a demanding race of national caliber and with the best Italian teams at the start.

In addition to Dante, unique in the finishing order of a non-Continental team, also competing were Scartezzini, Galli, Colombo and Colosio among the 166 athletes at the start on a spring day conditioned by strong winds. In the central stages of the race, ten of them broke away from the group, taking a maximum advantage of 1’30”. However, it is only a flash because in the decisive brawl everything changes again with around twenty runners trying to go for broke in the last kilometres. The victory goes to Giovanni Bortoluzzi (General Store Essegibi F.lli Curia), second place for Nicolò Arrighetti of Biesse Carrera, Cesare Chesini of Zalf Fior completes the podium.

For Arvedi it was the last test before the home match, the Port Circuit on Sunday 5 May. For the 57th edition the team will present itself with Tokyo gold medalist Francesco Lamon, Michele Scartezzini, Niccolò Galli, Alessandro Dante, Michael Cattani and Riccardo Galante.
