Pedro learns quickly

In just four seasonal rounds Pedro Acosta he has already demonstrated all his value to the entire MotoGP paddock. The Spanish rookie is the only driver to have scored points in all the races held and has already reached the podium twice in the GPs on Sunday and once in the Sprint on Saturday. Despite the small step back taken in the long race in Jerez, in which he finished tenth, the rookie of the GasGas team currently remains fourth in the world rankings and the best among non-Duke enthusiasts.

New hull and more

For this reason, KTM, despite Acosta racing in the customer team managed by Tech3, is investing significantly in its #31. This was confirmed by yesterday’s tests in Jerez, in which the Spaniard was given one to try new hull. In addition to the aerodynamic updates, the team also focused on the development of the lowering systems and on finding the best setup. Acosta completed overall 75 rpm on the Jerez track, with a best time of 1’36.893 which placed him in 11th place in the day’s standings.

Acosta’s words

We did a lot of laps and tried a lot of things – Acosta confirmed at the end of the day – including a new fairing and some details in the setup. In MotoGP, with very small changes, you can gain a few tenths, so every improvement is positive. It was also important to do more laps here in Jerez, because this weekend we struggled a little more in some areas and this test allowed us to resolve the small problems we had. We end this day with many positive aspects and we are ready for the next round in Le Mans.”.
