For the fourth consecutive year, Safiya Alsayegh won the UAE National Road Championship. In the 66km race held in Nazwa, Sharjah, the UAE Team ADQ cyclist achieved her first major goal of the season for which she had worked hard. The positive day at UAE is completed by the third place of the young Zahra Hussain of the UAE Development Team.
After the victory Safiya Alsayegh commented: “Thanks to God, all the support received and the hard work done I managed to achieve this result. It’s wonderful to win the UAE national road champion title once again. I thank UAE Team ADQ for all the support they gave me during the journey that led me to this victory. With the help of my team I have always managed to win the national title since I joined the team in 2022 and became a professional cyclist. I am also very happy because I see that from year to year the level of local women cyclists is growing and it is something exceptional to see this progress. This appointment was an important step to check my progress, and I must say that with the hard work I am doing, under the supervision of my coach Cristina San Emeterio, we are working well on the path that leads to the Olympics. I am grateful to everyone who supported me along the way, from people to sponsors.”
