THE FOURTH EDITION OF THE “BUSATTO LEGNAMI” GRAND PRIX AT THE FRIULIAN CHANTAL PEGOLO

Success of the 2023 Italian student champion Chantal Pegolostandard bearer of the Treviso team Conscio Pedal del Sile Cycling Unionin the 4th edition of the “Busatto Legnami” Grand Prix for juniors which took place on Thursday 25 April in Cappella di Scorzè, in the province of Venice. The 17-year-old sprinter from Friuli preceded, at the end of a very tight sprint, five other athletes who had managed to break away from the group before the final sprint.

Competing for success in Pegolo, which was born on 20 February 2007, were the Reggio Emilia Linda Ferrari (BFT Burzoni), the Bergamo area Alessia Zambelli (Biesse Carrera), the Saviglianese one Asia Anger (Racconigi Cycling Team), from Vicenza Eleonora Deotto (Breganze Millenium) and the Friulian one Martina Montagner (Conscio Pedale del Sile) who were literally preceded under the arrival banner. Behind them, with a delay of 4″, he arrived in a group which in the sprint was regulated by Erja Giulia Bianchi from Varese, bearer of the Biesse Carrera. Chantal Pegolo’s first victory of the season therefore came from Cappella di Scorzè, adding to the ten obtained in 2023 and the two second places achieved this year in Lombardy and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, precisely in Volta Mantovana in the Tecnomeccanica Trophy and in Buttrio, in the province of Udine, in the Buttrio Grand Prix.

To them must also be added a third place obtained in Bovolone (Verona) in the General Store Trophy. 119 athletes participated in the competition, which was organized by the Criterium Veneto Association of Salzano and saw the participation of the President of the Veneto Cycling Federation, Gianpietro Bonato; while 98 finished the race.

Eleonora Deotto (Breganze Millenium); 6. Martina Montagner (Conscio Pedale del Sile); 7. Erja Giulia Bianchi (Biesse Carrera) at 4”; 8. Matilde Cenci (Conscio Pedale del Sile); 9. Romina Evelin Di Sciuva (Canturino 1902); 10. Linda Sanarini (BFT Burzoni).
