“The clubs are negotiating, I can’t wait”

At the beginning of the year, Jurgen Klopp surprised the world of football by announcing his farewell to Liverpool at the end of the season because “short of energy”. From that moment on, the possible future scenarios of the technical management of the Reds – who at this end suffered a decline with their relegation to the Premier League and elimination from the EL – have taken center stage both in England and in the rest of Europe.

Among the most popular names for the bench on which the German coach has sat since 2015, there is the current coach of Feyenoord Arne Slotwho according to his recent statements, said he was ready to lead Liverpool.

“My decision is clear”

Slot is linked to the club until 2026, and has however expressed his desire to take over from Klopp at the end of the season. For this reason, Liverpool and Feyenoord are negotiating to agree the sum that would free the Dutch coach.

An initial offer of 9 million had already been rejected by the other party, but the coach said he was confident in the developments of the negotiation. “I would like to become the new manager of Liverpool, my decision is clear. Feyenoord and Liverpool are in negotiations, I’m waiting to see what comes of it out”he told ESPN.

“I am confident, waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement. I think Feyenoord will let me go to Liverpool because it would be a huge step for me. There are ongoing negotiations between the clubs, I’m here waiting. I’m happy at Feyenoord but Liverpool would be a fantastic opportunity for me.”concluded Slot.
