In the wake of the scandal involving Horner, the brilliant designer communicated his desire to terminate his contract a year early. The Scuderia di Maranello favored to welcome him

Adrian Newey he’s ready to leave Red Bull. The designer of the fastest single-seater in Formula 1 for several seasons now, winner of 6 constructors’ and 7 drivers’ world championships, 4 of which with Sebastian Vettel and 3 with Max Verstappen, is reportedly negotiating an early farewell from the world champion team as a consequence of the affair that has the team principal involved Chris Horner. The contract between Newey and Red Bull expires in 2025, but the parties could part ways already at the end of this season and thus write a new personal chapter in another stable. The brilliant designer has already received two proposals, that ofAston Martin and the now long-standing one of Ferrari, which has been following him for some time and is now in pole position to secure the services of the ‘English wizard’.

Aston Martin – To join the English team, Lawrence Stroll would have made Newey an offer of around one hundred million dollars. In Aston Martin, a team that from 2026 will be equipped with Honda power units, the Englishman would find Fernando Alonso as the leading driver (for whom he has always shown strong consideration) and would not be forced to move away from England, but at the moment it does not seem like the racing green the most popular color for Newey’s next uniform.

Ferrari – The color in pole position is in fact Ferrari red. For Newey, the Cavallino would represent the culmination of an entire career and in Maranello next season he would also have the opportunity to work with Lewis Hamilton, who as the coach himself stated is currently a lack in his CV. It is certainly a golden opportunity for Ferrari, a train to take at all costs, because Newey could arrive in Maranello next spring and therefore in time to lay the foundations from the beginning on the project of the new single-seater based on the new rules that will come into force in two years, when Audi will also enter F1 as the engine manufacturer for the current Sauber.

Goodbye Red Bull – As reported by AutoMotorSport and BBC, Newey – disturbed by the situation created within the team after accusations of sexual harassment towards an employee in Horner, acquitted by the team after an internal investigation – would have made the decision to interrupt his relationship with Red Bull. From the storm Horner came out strengthened with the support of the team, but there is no shortage of waste and one of the most in the balance is the brilliant designer himself who said he was dissatisfied with the power struggle in the team, asking not to be completely involved in the design of the single-seaters new generation that will be seen in 2026.
