Fossalta di Portogruaro (Venice) – After a thirty-year break, the youth cycling scene has returned to vibrate with enthusiasm and participation in Fossalta di Portogruaro. The return was orchestrated by the Gruppo Sportivo Cintellese 1987 with the fundamental support of the Municipal Administration. The day, dedicated entirely to young athletes from Triveneto, saw a notable turnout and contagious enthusiasm. Two hundred rookie cyclists started, followed in the afternoon by another 210 young athletes in the very young category. The president of the “fluo yellow” association, the former prof. Gianluca Geremia did not hide his great satisfaction: “It was an incredible emotion to see all these young cyclists ready to go – he said -. Special thanks go to Councilor Perissinotto and the entire City Council for believing and investing in our project, bringing around 3500 people to Fossalta”. Among the winners of the day, the names of Pietro Foffano of Gs Mosole stand out who in the race reserved for First Year Rookies led the group in a superb sprint; while among those of the Second Year the victory went to Giulio Puppo, from Friuli from GS Sacilese. The afternoon race, reserved for the very young, was characterized by the Municipality of Fossalta di Portogruaro Grand Prix Trophy and was won by the GS Caneva Gottardo company, which prevailed over the Venetian rivals of the Musile Sports Group. Note of merit also for the hosts, who obtained numerous placings in the top three places. Councilor Giuseppe Perissinotto then expressed great pride in the success of the event: “We strongly wanted this competition and seeing so many young people competing on our city streets made me extremely proud – he specified -. It is our intention to repeat this event also in the future”. With the support of the Community, local sponsors and those who support the team all year round, Fossalta di Portogruaro has once again become a point of reference for youth cycling, projecting sporting passion towards new and promising directions.
