LATISANA (UDINE)- Historic feat of CDA #Talmassons FVG which with today’s 3-0 success (31-29 25-20 25-17) over Futura Giovani Busto Arsizio closes the series of the women’s A2 Promotion Final and lands, for the first time in its history in women’s #A1. # An even more prestigious achievement if we consider the young age of the Friulian squad and the placement, only fourth place, in the Promotion Pool, reversed in the matches against Città di Messina and Futura Giovani in the Play Offs.
Coach Leonardo Barbieri replicates the starting six of Game 1 with Eze as director, Piomboni as opposite, Hardeman and Populini as spikers, Eckl and Costantini as central defenders and Negretti as libero.
On the opposite side, coach Beltrami, still without Conceicao, opts for the 6+1 different from game 1 with Monza directing diagonally with Zanette, Furlan and Rebora in the centre, Pomili – Cvetnic in the forwards, Bonvicini libero.
First set that gives an idea of the great quality on the pitch for this final. # Busto Arsizio started slightly better and found the first advantages but the CDA reacted promptly bringing the result to a draw, 12-12. # The guests extend their lead further to 13-17 with a parallel from Zanette. # Busto Arsizio maintains the four-point lead until 19-23. # However, CDA once again shows its character and cancels two set points at 22-24 and after an epic battle for the advantages wins the first set 31-29.
In the second set the CDA leads the way, galvanized by the comeback in the first set. # The decisive extension comes when the home team leads 17-13. # The pink panthers hold the field very well, making the most of their block. # Piomboni finds the point of 24-20 for the set point which then ends at 25-20.
The third set, as happened in game 1, is a Friulian domain. # Coach Barbieri’s girls move ahead by six points with Hardeman (18-12). # At this point, CDA #Talmassons pushes as they see the finish line and, led by the American, flies until they score 7 match points. # Closing the ball is Leah Hardeman who gets the promotion #party started.
CDA #Talmassons therefore officially writes history, becoming the first Friulian team to reach the top flight of women’s volleyball. # A masterpiece created by a club that celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, achieving the best possible achievement for itself and for all the fans who, especially this season, have never failed to support the Pink Panthers. # Now the dream is officially reality.

Alessandro Beltrami (Coach Futura Giovani Busto Arsizio) – « Congratulations to #Talmassons because they played two games of the highest level in everything they did. # They always knew how to find the right solutions in all moments of the match. # We allowed ourselves to be led into the trap a little too much. # Unfortunately it’s over now, in my opinion we made a bit of a mistake with some balls falling too easily. # It’s a shame because we had found the key in the first set to apply pressure. # I’m sorry because we were neither constant nor cynical enough. # I’m sorry it ended here, for me personally it was an intense and beautiful experience. # I thank the whole environment starting from the club and the staff as well as the girls who gave me so much and followed me. # Unfortunately we didn’t fulfill a dream that this team wanted to achieve from the beginning. # It is an experience that must serve as a lesson for us to learn because either you win or you learn and today unfortunately #Talmassons won.”
