The most important moment of the season (and probably of the four-year period) is about to arrive Italian men’s national basketball team. Gianmarco Pozzecco’s Azzurri will fly to Puerto Rico on July 2nd they will compete in the Pre-Olympic to seek qualification for the Paris Games.
At the moment, however, the most talented player of the Italian team is stuck in the pits. In fact, Simone Fontecchio missed the last part of the season in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons due to a big toe injury.
The comment of the Italian technical commissioner to Sky: “Unfortunately, Simone did not actually play the final part of the NBA season due to the injury that struck him. And it’s a shame because he was playing fantastically“.
And he adds: “Now the first thing we need to do is give a precise assessment of his injury as soon as he returns to Italy shortly. We obviously hope that the injury isn’t serious, we’ll see but I don’t deny that I’m a bit worried about Simone“.
