(AGENPARL) – Fri 19 April 2024 THE “NATALE DI ROMA” INCLUSIVE RUGBY TOURNAMENT PRESENTED. PERISSA (FDI): INTEGRATED SPORT TO OVERCOME FENCES AND BARRIERS
“Celebrating Christmas in Rome with the prestige that the anniversary deserves is very important for us, Roman citizens. This year we will do it with an event based on solidarity, inclusiveness and sociability: the first inclusive Christmas rugby tournament in Rome. My hope is that it will pave the way for many other events that carry forward integrated sport, through which we can overcome fences and barriers. We, as Parliament and as a Government, are there and will always be there, because we support the principle that sport is a fundamental educational structure especially for the young generations”. With these words, Fratelli d’Italia deputy Marco Perissa introduced the launch event of the event this morning in the press room of the Chamber.
Together with him, the Capitoline councilor of Fratelli d’Italia Federico Rocca, the director of the Capitoline Rugby Union Francesco Mione and the president of Opes Juri Morico spoke to explain the Tournament in detail, introduced by Simone Pelosi. The event was also illustrated by an evocative film, which shows the importance, effectiveness and beauty of rugby “as a moment of hope and progress. With determination and joy – explain the promoters – we play to build an inclusive world”.
The event, which also includes a guided tour in the heart of Rome open to all participants in the tournament, will see six teams from all over Italy compete on the fields of the Unione Rugby Capitolina on 21 April. To reward the winners, Pelosi recalls, there will be among others “the deputy minister of Labor and Social Policies Maria Teresa Bellucci, the sports councilor of the Lazio region Massimiliano Maselli, the president of the Lazio regional council Antonello Aurigemma and the deputies of FdI Marco Perissa and Francesco Filini”.
A worthy conclusion to the presentation meeting was the speech by Federico, one of the ImplaccAbili boys, who with a few significant words spoke about the importance of rugby as an opportunity for sport, sociality and life.
