Wheelchair rugby team robbed

The Wheelchair rugby team (wheelchair rugby, dr) H81 ASD of Vicenza, which has recently suffered a theft of equipment and sports equipment during a stop in Rome.

On April 12th, the team van was broken into and the materials needed to play were stolen. This prevented the team from competing in the Rome stage, forcing them to return home after a long journey. A hard blow for these athletes, who see sport not only as a recreational activity, but also as a means to overcome the barriers of disability.

Despite the bitterness for what happened, the team did not lose heart and launched an appeal on the GoFundMe platform to raise the funds needed to buy back the stolen material. The response was immediate: in a few hours, 2,500 euros were raised, accompanied by messages of encouragement and solidarity.

The Vicenza wheelchair rugby team has a very specific objective: allow an ever-increasing number of people with disabilities to play sport in an environment of inclusion and support. This episode, despite its drama, demonstrated how ready the community is to support this important project.
